Background & Challenge

Aneden Gives is a nonprofit working to expand access to fertility care for women of color. In early 2025, they were invited to submit a video application for the Pivotal Ventures Action for Women’s Health grant, a competitive funding opportunity backed by Pivotal Ventures.

The stakes were high and the constraints were real. The video needed to clearly communicate impact, vision, and credibility in under 90 seconds, meet strict submission requirements, and be delivered on a tight turnaround. It also had to feel human and hopeful, not overly produced or generic.

Our Role

From the outset, JSB Video took a collaborative, solution-oriented approach. We worked closely with Board Chair Olu Fagbemiro and team members Giulia Volini and Catherine Callahan to shape a concise, emotionally grounded story that fit the grant’s exact specifications.

We guided script structure, conducted a heartfelt on-camera interview, captured original footage, and integrated client-provided photos and video to add depth. Post-production moved quickly, with multiple edit rounds delivered in just days. We handled precise captioning and compliance, ensuring accessibility, platform readability, and an exact final runtime of 1:29. Throughout, we remained highly responsive, adjusting quickly as feedback and requirements evolved.

Results

Aneden Gives advanced to the next round of the Pivotal Ventures grant process, with the client crediting the video as a key factor in their success.

Beyond the application itself, the video has since been repurposed for donor outreach and marketing—demonstrating how a well-executed grant video can create value far beyond a single submission.
