Overview

Project: Made There — Season 1
Client: Cascade PBS (Crosscut)
Category: Web / Television Series
Sub-Category: Community & Culture

Background & Challenge

Crosscut set out to produce the first season of Made There, a short-form series spotlighting Pacific Northwest small business owners creating local craft, food, and beverage products. The goal was to capture not just what these makers produce, but why their work matters—celebrating creativity, place, and community.

The challenge was producing consistently high-quality 5–7 minute episodes across multiple locations and subjects, each with distinct environments and workflows. Crosscut needed experienced production support to ensure strong visuals, clean audio, and reliable technical execution across the entire season.

Our Role

JSB Video was brought in to support filming and technical production throughout Season 1. We worked closely with Crosscut’s production team and each featured business to capture visually engaging footage that reflected the personality and process behind each story.

Our work included on-location filming across the Pacific Northwest, managing camera, lighting, and audio setups, and adapting quickly to varied environments—from breweries to ceramic studios. We focused on capturing both the craft itself and the human moments that bring each episode to life, ensuring every installment felt cohesive while honoring each subject’s individuality.

Results

Season 1 of Made There launched with nine episodes highlighting local artisans and their impact on the region’s cultural and economic landscape. The series was well received, generating strong audience engagement and positive feedback for its storytelling and production quality.

The success of the season led to broader distribution, with the show ultimately being acquired by PlayersTV, expanding its reach beyond the Pacific Northwest and validating the strength of the series’ creative and technical execution.
